About Our Firm

Siegman & Associates is a firm devoted to transportation planning for livable communities. Founded by Patrick Siegman in 1998 and based in San Francisco, we provide a full range of professional services, from concept to implementation, for public, private, and nonprofit clients throughout the United States.

Our Work

We bring to every project a unique blend of expertise in planning, economics, and consensus building. As economists, we help our clients identify the best mix of transportation investments for meeting their economic, environmental, and quality-of-life goals. As planners, we help our clients design memorable places where people want to live, work, shop, and play. We work at all scales, from small towns to metropolitan regions, and in all contexts, from downtown cores, to retrofitting suburban corridors, to designing compact, walkable, greenfield neighborhoods. We have particular expertise in planning, designing, and managing complex urban environments, such as downtowns, transit-oriented developments, and universities. Our work has been recognized with national honors from the American Institute of Architects, the American Planning Association, the Congress for the New Urbanism, Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy, the International Parking Institute, the National Association of Counties, the National Park Service, and the Society for College and University Planning.

Since our founding, we have emphasized collaboration and teamwork. We work closely with our clients, our professional colleagues, and the public at large to craft plans that have broad support. We bring to every project an inclusive and interactive design approach. Our goal is to work with colleagues and the community to build consensus for a long-term vision, and for swift action to begin implementing it. To supplement our in-house expertise, we frequently collaborate with our network of architects, urban designers, engineers, landscape architects, and environmental planners.
